The absolute gem of snare drums edging slightly out in front of my favourite, the hugely successful Supra-Phonic 400.
Ludwig had it sussed in the snare department so full credit must go to their design team during the 1920s period for the initial design.
The “Standard” model shell is one piece solid brass with a gun metal outer finish. The rest of the drum is the same spec as the 400 with a P-85 throw-off strainer. Beautiful drums if you can find one..hang onto it if you do!
The wealthier types amongst us will have purchased the engraved model but, the “Holy Grail” of snares is a near MINT condition engraved model from the 1920s.
